1 Corinthians 1:6–8

SCRIPTURE 1 Corinthians 1:6–8 “Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: so that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

COMMENTARY This is clear that God will stabilize individuals in Christ until the day of Christ, yet as with all other promises of God, we must be faithful (as earlier explained) to receive the promises of God.  We cannot expect God to stabilize us if we are committed to rejecting He and His ways.    We know this contextually because of the balance of Scripture. God has taught us throughout Scripture that those who were given promises in the past did not necessarily receive the promises given to them.

This is similar to Jude 24 “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,” Again, God is able to keep us from falling (which is spiritually fatal) and will certainly do so for those who remain faithful.
